Silkworm Update
They’re really growing! This fourth instar worm is the largest of the brood. They go through the leaves pretty fast now, too – they eat four or five whole ligustrum leaves a day, instead of taking a couple of days or more.
The Mulberry Status Report: We’re at Soft Green Buds. Should be catkins and tiny leaves in just a couple of days, at which point I’ll take the mulberry silkworm (Bombyx mori) eggs out of the fridge to start warming up.
ummm

And yes, it’s a lot. Nothing like when the Mulberry worms get going, though… they make probably a cup or so per day. I put it in the garden as fertilizer. It’s an important component of Chinese medicine.
