Last night, three of the six Eri Silkworms shed their fourth skins, entering the fifth and final instar.

Howdy all! I haven’t been knitting much lately, because I’ve been focusing on raising worms and reeling silk … But I finally managed to bring the steel needles and the bug spit together!
Eri update: Fourth Skins!
The shift into the fourth instar has begun! Three of the six caterpillars are now in the fourth instar.
Eri caterpillars: Third Skins
The caterpillars are entering the third instar. They are looking significantly different now; you almost wouldn’t guess that they’re the same species.
And they keep growing… and growing…
The Eri silkworms are growing by leaps and bounds. Once they shed their skins and entered the second instar, their growth seems faster – partly just because they are big enough to notice the changes!
