The first little group of silkworms to hatch was just the avant garde… today, hatching began in earnest at dawn.
This is the kind of mass hatching that gives the kegos the name “Ant Silkworm.” They really do resemble a crawling anthill.
The leaves have to be laid directly on top of the worms; they don’t like to have to cross any distance at all to get their food. If they are separated from it by a few inches, they die.
